We finished upgrading all of our Shared Servers MySQL services to MariaDB 10.2, the latest supported version by cPanel. This upgrade improves the performance of requests for MySQL and introduces support for two new table formats: "DYNAMIC" and "COMPRESSED".
More information regarding database table formats can be found here: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/library/xtradbinnodb-storage-formats/
This update has also enabled "strict mode" for database queries, which may impact some functions. Any SQL query that once triggered a warning, will now result in an error. While modern CMS like WordPress will be fully compatible with this change, some plugins, older versions, and custom code may have issues.
Please contact support if you have found any issues after the update.
